Andrew Macfarlane's Agency Experience
I started my career as a conceptual copywriter working at:
- Ogilvy Cape Town
- Singh&Sons
- And World Wide Creative
Working closely with art directors and designers, presenting ideas to creative directors, and explaining concepts to clients provided an excellent foundation for a career.
While working within these agencies, I seized the opportunity to create print, television, and radio content.
You can review some of my work below.
Moving Into Public Relations
After four years working in advertising agencies, I transitioned into the world of public relations.
A steep learning curve awaited me as I had to learn how to:
- Pitch journalists
- Create content plans for clients

Team Management and More
After working in the public relations sector for a year, an opportunity to lead a small team of writers presented itself.
In this role, I oversaw the creation of social media content plans, blogs, and video content.
Out of necessity, I started to take on the role of a DIY expert to create video content.

Since going freelance full-time, I've been able to step into numerous roles.
The majority of my current workload consists of SEO writing; however, I'm willing to fill any roles I've previously held or tackle any new ones.
